41st ATLFilm Fest Rolls Out Red Carpet

41st ATLFilm Fest Rolls Out Red Carpet

Atlanta, GA

The 41st Annual Atlanta Film Festival brings talent from both in front and behind the camera to walk the red carpet in conjunction with their respective film festival screenings. This year’s event will take place from Friday, March 24 to Sunday, April 2, 2017. The 10-day event will feature more than 160 feature length and short film presentations, 37 Creative Conferences and over a dozen Special Presentations.

The Atlanta Film Festival, now in its fifth decade, is an Academy Award-qualifying festival and one of the region’s largest and longest-running preeminent celebrations of cinema in the Southeast United States, and was recently named one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” and one of “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” by MovieMaker Magazine. More than 27,000 festival attendees enjoy independent, animated, documentary and short films each year, selected from more than 6,000 submissions from 120 countries.

The Atlanta Film Festival is the chief annual operation of the Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS), one of the oldest and largest organizations dedicated to the promotion and education of film in the United States, which enriches the community through screenings, classes, workshops and other events year-round. Major funding for the Atlanta Film Society is provided by Turner, XFINITY, MailChimp and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners through the Fulton County Arts & Culture Department and the National Endowment for the Arts through the Art Works category

The opening night presentation of ‘Dave Made a Maze’, on Friday, March 24, 2017, will include red carpet appearances by Director Bill Watterson, Producer John Charles Meyer, Executive Producer John Chuldenko and Actor Meera Rohit Kumbhani. The film is about Dave, who in a struggling attempt to create something of significance, builds a fort in his living room where he falls victim to his own creation. Now trapped in a world filled with booby traps and fantastical pitfalls, Dave advises his girlfriend against entering the ever-changing mythical world to save him.

On closing night, Saturday, April 1, 2017, the film ‘Manashe’ will be presented and will include a red carpet appearance by Executive Producer and Actor Danelle Eliav. The film takes place deep in the heart of New York’s ultra-orthodox Hasidic Jewish community where Menashe, a kind, hapless grocery store clerk, struggles to make ends meet and responsibly parent his young son, Rieven, following his wife Leah’s death. Tradition prohibits Menashe from raising his son alone, so Rieven’s strict uncle adopts him, leaving Menashe heartbroken. Meanwhile, though Menashe seems to bungle every challenge in his path, his rabbi grants him one special week with Rieven before Leah’s memorial. It’s his chance to prove himself a suitable man of faith and fatherhood, and restore respect among his doubters.

See Something Wrong? Have A Suggestion?

Though the Beta testing is well in the past, we at Max It are always working to improve the site, keep the gears oiled, and all around tinker to improve the experience for both the indie filmmakers that submit content, as well as the indie film lovers that drop in for their daily fix.

Just like suspicious activity, we ask that if you see something wrong, have a suggestion, or would just like to tell us just what you like or dislike about the site, you let us know.

We've a lot of things still to add (No Peeking Behind The Curtain!), but we want to make sure what is current online is working without issues. To do this each day we'll add more articles, tweak a feature here, remove a feature there. Just to keep things moving along in the right direction.

To let us know of anything, just click on Contact in the Main Menu at the top and give us as detailed a description of the problem, or suggestion and we'll do our best to look to see if and how it can be fixed, or added!

As always, we thank you for your support!
