3 Nominations For ‘The Velvet Abstract’

‘The Velvet Abstract’ highlights the detrimental damage humanity is doing to the environment in a bid to raise awareness about this plight, so that even more people can join the campaign to help save the planet.

The script’s take on the environmental concerns facing mankind culminated in CG artists from ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘Avatar’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘The Martian’ and many more, lining up to work on the film. Consequently, the film was produced on six continents. This brought it to the attention of Tobias Menzies, who came straight from the success of ‘The Night Manager’, to record the narration for a script he loved.

“The picture’s cut impressed the world-renowned composer Jean Pascal-Beintus, who broke convention and, for the first time in his illustrious career, agreed to write an original score for a short film. So, on the back of his incredible work on ‘Argo’, ‘Harry Potter’, ‘The King’s Speech’, ‘The Imitation Game’ and ‘The Danish Girl’, to name just a few, Pascal-Beintus wrote the original score for ‘The Velvet Abstract’.” Stated the filmmakers, “‘The Velvet Abstract’’s environmental message also impressed BAFTA, who invited the film and its Director to be part of a special sustainability-in-film-making event at the Princess Anne Theatre in London, where they screened an exclusive trailer to a packed audience of environmentalists.”

Having just been released, it has already been accepted into 5 international film festivals. It has also received 3 nominations for Best Short Film.

See Something Wrong? Have A Suggestion?

Though the Beta testing is well in the past, we at Max It are always working to improve the site, keep the gears oiled, and all around tinker to improve the experience for both the indie filmmakers that submit content, as well as the indie film lovers that drop in for their daily fix.

Just like suspicious activity, we ask that if you see something wrong, have a suggestion, or would just like to tell us just what you like or dislike about the site, you let us know.

We've a lot of things still to add (No Peeking Behind The Curtain!), but we want to make sure what is current online is working without issues. To do this each day we'll add more articles, tweak a feature here, remove a feature there. Just to keep things moving along in the right direction.

To let us know of anything, just click on Contact in the Main Menu at the top and give us as detailed a description of the problem, or suggestion and we'll do our best to look to see if and how it can be fixed, or added!

As always, we thank you for your support!
