HeyJune Wins IndieFest Film Award Nysff 2016

New York, New York.

Ms. HeyJune Jeon, a first-time director and veteran producer, has won a prestigious Award of Recognition from the IndieFEST Film Awards. Her film has also been part of the Official Selection for New York Short Film Festival 2016. The award was given for Ms. Jeon’s exciting narrative short, Exit Interview, which she made independently right after quitting her high-profile finance career.

Exit Interview features exceptional visuals, unique take on mourning after suffering a loss, and a modern twist on Lucifer & Gabriel played by the talented Sean DeLaney & Madeline Burton (both NYU Tisch actors). “I’ve always struggled with bouncing back from trauma. I think secretly many people do. I fantasized about what it would take for me to move on. This film is a manifestation of that fantasy, and serendipitously a good metaphor for leaving 2016 behind.”

The IndieFEST Film Awards recognizes film, television, videography and new media professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change. Entries are judged by highly qualified professionals in the film and television industry.

In winning an IndieFEST Film Award, Ms. Jeon joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award including Liam Neeson as the narrator of Love Thy Nature, A Path Appears Documentary featuring George Clooney and Blake Lively, Radical Grace executive produced by Susan Sarandon, a searing expose Davids and Goliath by Leon Lee, and Touched with Fire starring Katie Holmes.  Rick Prickett, who chairs The IndieFEST Film Awards, had this to say about the latest winners, “The IndieFEST is not an easy award to win. Entries are received from around the world from powerhouse companies to remarkable new talent. The IndieFEST helps set the standard for craft and creativity. The judges were pleased with the exceptional high quality of entries. The goal of The IndieFEST Film Awards is to help winners achieve the recognition they deserve.”

See Something Wrong? Have A Suggestion?

Though the Beta testing is well in the past, we at Max It are always working to improve the site, keep the gears oiled, and all around tinker to improve the experience for both the indie filmmakers that submit content, as well as the indie film lovers that drop in for their daily fix.

Just like suspicious activity, we ask that if you see something wrong, have a suggestion, or would just like to tell us just what you like or dislike about the site, you let us know.

We've a lot of things still to add (No Peeking Behind The Curtain!), but we want to make sure what is current online is working without issues. To do this each day we'll add more articles, tweak a feature here, remove a feature there. Just to keep things moving along in the right direction.

To let us know of anything, just click on Contact in the Main Menu at the top and give us as detailed a description of the problem, or suggestion and we'll do our best to look to see if and how it can be fixed, or added!

As always, we thank you for your support!
