Stand A Suspense Film Premieres In LA

Stand A Suspense Film Premieres In LA

Los Angeles, CA, July 19, 2016

There are over 110 million active landmines in 68 countries around the world. If you step on one, there’s only one thing to do. STAND is a dramatic thriller that deals with two brothers in that precarious situation in the jungles of Vietnam. The film, directed by Cosmos Kiindarius, will be screened for the NewFilmMakersLA film festival at 1139 S. Hill St., Los Angeles, on July 30th, at 9:15pm. (An 8:30pm reception with a complimentary open bar precedes the event).

“I learned a lot in my time working with David Fincher, about telling personal stories, considering my audience in every choice I make, and not worrying about changing the world. I don’t think I can change the world; but I do think that I can make interesting movies that inspire people to think and maybe even get involved. Movies can entertain and inform. It is my hope that STAND does both.”- Cosmos Kiindarius, Director.

NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization designed to showcase innovative works by emerging filmmakers from around the world. “This remarkable film explores universal themes of family, introspection, and the human spirit in a beautifully honest way. NewFilmmakers Los Angeles is proud to host the premiere of Cosmos Kiindarius’ feature film.” – Alexandra Diantgikis, NewFilmmakers Los Angeles.

STAND was picked up for worldwide distribution by Glass House Distribution, a new and emerging distribution company based in NY. “We knew right away that this film, with its precise acting and slow ratcheting of tension to an extraordinary build, would be something people wanted to see. On top of that, there’s a social message here about awareness of a danger that exists,” said Tom Malloy, co-head of Glass House Distribution.

The film will be released world wide and on VOD in the fall of 2016.

See Something Wrong? Have A Suggestion?

Though the Beta testing is well in the past, we at Max It are always working to improve the site, keep the gears oiled, and all around tinker to improve the experience for both the indie filmmakers that submit content, as well as the indie film lovers that drop in for their daily fix.

Just like suspicious activity, we ask that if you see something wrong, have a suggestion, or would just like to tell us just what you like or dislike about the site, you let us know.

We've a lot of things still to add (No Peeking Behind The Curtain!), but we want to make sure what is current online is working without issues. To do this each day we'll add more articles, tweak a feature here, remove a feature there. Just to keep things moving along in the right direction.

To let us know of anything, just click on Contact in the Main Menu at the top and give us as detailed a description of the problem, or suggestion and we'll do our best to look to see if and how it can be fixed, or added!

As always, we thank you for your support!
