Tom Proctor Stars In Amp Films Legacy

Utica, NY, United States

Awesome Monkey Productions (AMP) wrapped up principal photography last week on the dramatic short film, “Legacy”, starring Tom Proctor. Proctor, who has been in major films from Guardians of the Galaxy, Roots, Nashville and Justified, was perfect for this role. AMP Films was created by an award-winning screenwriting duo of Anna & Mark Casadei, who serve as CEO and VP of the production company, respectively.

Their goal was to create compelling content while providing more roles for women in the creative process–behind the camera as well as in front. From writers, cinematographers, production assistants and down to security specialists, support for female filmmakers has always been one of their many goals. AMP Films sought after a very talented cinematographer, Sarah Cawley (Salem and Ugly Betty) whose vision was remarkable for this film. Once they combined the talents of Cawley and director Claude Bauschinger, the film came to life.

Written by Anna Casadei, “Legacy” is based on a true story about a father’s grief over the death of his infant son. The story shows a real-life struggle that’s often not seen from a father’s perspective. It was an emotional ride for the production crew. Producer Mark Casadei said, “It’s one thing to do a great emotional story, but entirely different when it affects you on a personal level.” He continued, “Actor Tom Proctor did such an amazing job delivering his lines that there wasn’t a dry eye between takes.” The film was shot in Utica, NY with the historic backdrops of Forest Hills and Calvary cemeteries. Proctor said, “It has really, really been amazing. I have just been so impressed with the crew and everything like that. Their energy is great, professionalism is great. I always worry when it comes to doing indie films. I am at a point in my career when I can’t really afford to turn out crap.” He added, “God, I love this production team. Great writers, Great directors, and great DP. Count me in!”

Cawley stated that she enjoyed working on “Legacy”. “It has high stakes, personal content and top notch acting and directing. Plus, it was fun.” Bauschinger added, “From the inspirational writing to the inspired acting, from the amazing lensing to the phenomenal support we received all around, I could not have asked for a better experience! We have a great team in place!”

AMP Films plans on keeping this team together for future productions and roll out a feature film that is already in the works. Anna stated, “This team has been amazing on bringing this script alive, I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.” A Fall release date of “Legacy” is expected, and it will hit the film festival circuit before it is released to the public.

A public release date will be announced later this year.

See Something Wrong? Have A Suggestion?

Though the Beta testing is well in the past, we at Max It are always working to improve the site, keep the gears oiled, and all around tinker to improve the experience for both the indie filmmakers that submit content, as well as the indie film lovers that drop in for their daily fix.

Just like suspicious activity, we ask that if you see something wrong, have a suggestion, or would just like to tell us just what you like or dislike about the site, you let us know.

We've a lot of things still to add (No Peeking Behind The Curtain!), but we want to make sure what is current online is working without issues. To do this each day we'll add more articles, tweak a feature here, remove a feature there. Just to keep things moving along in the right direction.

To let us know of anything, just click on Contact in the Main Menu at the top and give us as detailed a description of the problem, or suggestion and we'll do our best to look to see if and how it can be fixed, or added!

As always, we thank you for your support!
