Loss and Love In The Unlikeliest of Places

Loss and Love In The Unlikeliest of Places

June 18, 2016 New York, New York

What Tomorrow Brings is a short film that tells the story of Kate, a woman in protective custody who falls for Jack, the federal marshal protecting her the night before she assumes a new identity and becomes another person. Scheduled to shoot in mid-July, the film bypasses conventional archetypes and clichés about witness protection, instead telling a unique and compelling story about two people and the effect their unusual circumstances have on them.

Currently in preproduction, the film is set in bucolic Upstate New York, which provides a stark contrast between two likable individuals trapped by their respective pasts and the beauty that surrounds them. To help bring their film to life, Beck and Hoagland have assembled a first-rate team. In addition to Dingwall, whose films have screened at the Ann Arbor and SlamDance film festivals, the pair (who also play Kate and Jack) have brought on board cinematographer Anna Franquesa Solano, whose work has been shown in festivals around the world and John Sepe, who has produced countless commercial, film and television projects over the past 15 years.

Rounding out the team are cast members Neal Matarazzo (Free Willy 2, Contact, Blindspot, Person of Interest, House of Cards, The Blacklist, Boardwalk Empire), Melissa Macleod Herion (The Pearl Theatre Company, NJ Rep, Seven Angels Theatre) and Eric Neumann, whom Radio and Television Society named, “one of the hottest rising star stand-up comedians in New York.” The team is shooting on a budget of $23,317. While this may sound like a lot for a short film, Beck and Hoagland recognize that the costs for making a well-crafted movie with high production value add up quickly.

See Something Wrong? Have A Suggestion?

Though the Beta testing is well in the past, we at Max It are always working to improve the site, keep the gears oiled, and all around tinker to improve the experience for both the indie filmmakers that submit content, as well as the indie film lovers that drop in for their daily fix.

Just like suspicious activity, we ask that if you see something wrong, have a suggestion, or would just like to tell us just what you like or dislike about the site, you let us know.

We've a lot of things still to add (No Peeking Behind The Curtain!), but we want to make sure what is current online is working without issues. To do this each day we'll add more articles, tweak a feature here, remove a feature there. Just to keep things moving along in the right direction.

To let us know of anything, just click on Contact in the Main Menu at the top and give us as detailed a description of the problem, or suggestion and we'll do our best to look to see if and how it can be fixed, or added!

As always, we thank you for your support!
