The Art of the Deal Series Released

Chicago, IL. United States

The Art of the Deal is a dark satire web series from Nightsandweekends and creator Grant Hayden Horne. The eight act limited series is available for streaming and download now at

Described as “a revenge fantasy for the 99%,” the story follows three strangers who, in a more desperate near future, band together to kidnap a politically connected billionaire in exchange for a major increase in the national minimum wage. The black comedy takes on a range of timely topics: celebrity worship, paid content, journalism’s race to the bottom, phone hacks, CEO fetishes, bomb building, financial domination and sugar daddies, all while showing the steps necessary for a successful abduction.

The series is a one-man-band effort from creator Grant Hayden Horne, who wrote, produced, cast, shot, directed, edited, scored, mixed, colored and designed “The Art of the Deal.” This is the first narrative project from Horne, an Emmy Award winning television who has been a marketing and promotion manager for local broadcast television stations since 1999. “I came into this project as both an outsider and a contrarian,” says Horne. “It’s my response to both the political and cultural insanity in America involving money and the current state of American comedy, which is mired in a repetitive slog of parody, pop-culture derivatives, weirdness for weirdness’ sake and identity-politics navel gazing. Comedy has lost its depth and because of that, comedic narratives that are truly about something are now few and far between. The result is a unique, full-length story told from a different perspective outside the established comedy/improv circles.”

See Something Wrong? Have A Suggestion?

Though the Beta testing is well in the past, we at Max It are always working to improve the site, keep the gears oiled, and all around tinker to improve the experience for both the indie filmmakers that submit content, as well as the indie film lovers that drop in for their daily fix.

Just like suspicious activity, we ask that if you see something wrong, have a suggestion, or would just like to tell us just what you like or dislike about the site, you let us know.

We've a lot of things still to add (No Peeking Behind The Curtain!), but we want to make sure what is current online is working without issues. To do this each day we'll add more articles, tweak a feature here, remove a feature there. Just to keep things moving along in the right direction.

To let us know of anything, just click on Contact in the Main Menu at the top and give us as detailed a description of the problem, or suggestion and we'll do our best to look to see if and how it can be fixed, or added!

As always, we thank you for your support!
