Pretend We’re Kissing Available Worldwide

Toronto, ON

Winner of the audience award for Best Comedy at the Maui Film Festival, the film flies in the face of rom-com conventions. Following Benny and Jordan on a whirlwind weekend romance, that takes a turn for the awkward, Sadowski injects a dose of reality into the genre. Dov Tiefenbach (Harold and Kumar, Sympathy for Delicious) plays Benny, a nebbish character who struggles to make a real romantic connection and Tommie-Amber Pirie (Michael: Tuesday and Thursdays, Bitten) is Jordan, a girl obsessed with the ideals of a magical kind of love. Benny’s roommate Autumn, is brought to life by Zoë Kravitz (Divergent, Mad Max: Fury Road), an unemployed, self-diagnosed agoraphobic bi-sexual hippy.

Matt Sadowski is a former actor (well-known for his stint as the green S.P.D. Power Ranger on Disney’s Power Rangers), writer, producer and director, with the past five years dedicated to filmmaking. His short films Jimmy and Plus or Minus have won awards at festivals around the world, and The Butterfly and the Bee played at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. In 2011, Sadowski was awarded the prestigious Drama Prize from the National Screen Institute for his short film S is for Bird. Sadowski also directed two seasons of The Right Hand, a reality show he co-created for HBO Canada/The Movie Network. He is most well-known for his direction of the documentary Don’t You Forget About Me, a ‘love letter’ to John Hughes. His most recent short films, The Tape and S is for Bird have screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (2012) and two years in a row in Cannes with the Not Short on Talent program (2012 and 2013).

“Somewhere between the neurotic humour of Manhattan and the loquacious earnestness of Before Sunrise. Devotees of either film ought to be charmed.” – Jason Anderson, Toronto Star

“Will connect with both hip cynics and those with rosier hopes. A match made in certain heavens.” – Brad Wheeler, The Globe and Mail

“Breaks the mould of what a rom com can be.” – Richard Crouse,

The critically acclaimed & award winning film is now available on iTunes, Amazon, Google & Netflix.

See Something Wrong? Have A Suggestion?

Though the Beta testing is well in the past, we at Max It are always working to improve the site, keep the gears oiled, and all around tinker to improve the experience for both the indie filmmakers that submit content, as well as the indie film lovers that drop in for their daily fix.

Just like suspicious activity, we ask that if you see something wrong, have a suggestion, or would just like to tell us just what you like or dislike about the site, you let us know.

We've a lot of things still to add (No Peeking Behind The Curtain!), but we want to make sure what is current online is working without issues. To do this each day we'll add more articles, tweak a feature here, remove a feature there. Just to keep things moving along in the right direction.

To let us know of anything, just click on Contact in the Main Menu at the top and give us as detailed a description of the problem, or suggestion and we'll do our best to look to see if and how it can be fixed, or added!

As always, we thank you for your support!
